World Series Game 7 Draws 51M Audience Members In the US, Canada and Japan Regions.

The exciting 11-inning clash where the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Blue Jays by one run drew a total 51M viewers across the United States, Canada, and Japan markets. Major League Baseball reported this marks the highest-rated World Series Game 7 after the 1991 edition contest between the Twins and Atlanta Braves.

Television Ratings Details

The Saturday memorable game averaged 27.33M audience members on Fox Sports channels, Fox Deportes and their streaming platforms. According to ratings data, it was the second highest-rated program of the week.

It additionally stands as the top-rated World Series game since the 2017 edition final game between the Dodgers and Houston Astros, which averaged 29.07 million. This marks a sixteen percent improvement compared to the previous finale featuring the Nationals and Houston Astros, which attracted 23.19 million.

In the weekly rankings, Game 6 ranked fourth, the fourth game was seventh, the fifth game came in 8th, and the third game finished in 13th position.

Global Audience Numbers

In Canada, the game recorded over 11 million viewers on the Sportsnet network and the French-language TVA Sports. This was the most-watched English broadcast in the country since the 2010 Winter Olympics.

In Japan, where the final contest started at 9 PM local time, it drew 12M. This came after last Friday’s sixth game – in which Fall Classic MVP Yamamoto allowed a single run in six innings – recorded 13.1 million spectators, making it the most-watched World Series matchup on a single network in the country.

Series Totals and Patterns

The full seven-game series recorded 15.71M audience members on the Fox network, a 2% rise from the previous year’s Dodgers versus Yankees matchup. This marks the initial instance since 2015 and ‘16 that the Fall Classic has recorded audience growth for two consecutive seasons.

Including the Game 1 broadcast on the Univision network, the total American viewership reached 16.1M. The overall World Series viewership in the Japanese market was 9.7 million and 8.1M in the Canadian market.

The complete MLB Postseason on Fox and its sister channels recorded over 8 million watchers, an 8% rise over the previous year and the network’s best postseason performance since 2017.

MLB stated that the Fall Classic was televised in 203 nations and regions by forty-four media partners in 16 different tongues.
